Mothers and daughters
All the seasons have their charm in Iceland but spring and the beginning of summer is probably the most emotional time of year. That's when the landscape turns from the black and white of the long winter into a splash of vibrant colours. The flowers start to bloom and colour the ground and the farm animals have their offspring that make us all go soft inside and beady eyed. The Icelandic horse has it's foals in the spring and early summer. I was lucky enough to see a foal that had been born the night before, the mother quite wary and protective.
